1977 VW Beetle 1600S aka The Super Bug

What is there that can possibly be said about the 'Beetle' that hasn't been said before? The most successful car ever produced and one that has a place in the hearts of all who have owned and driven one before.
This little Beetle is a rather special model known as the 1600S or 'The Super Bug'. They were offered new in South Africa in 1977 and were offered a luxury alternative to the models already offered in the Beetle model line up. They were assembled in South Africa and delivered new on the 1st of January 1977. They came with a number of new 'luxury' features, the primary of which being the new curved and raked windshield and curved and padded dashboard. They came with Ross Style rims, chrome bumpers, corduroy seats and... wait for it... door pockets! 3 point safety harnesses were now also standard features.
This car is a genuine one owner car from new! After many years of careful ownership and daily use, the owner decided to have the car lovingly restored. It was restored from the ground up at huge expense and is in excellent condition! Every part of the car has been overhauled, which included rebuilding the motor, gearbox, brakes and suspension. The interior has been recovered in leather and all the chrome is new. All the rubbers and weatherstrips are new aswell. The owner imported mag wheels and a period correct roof rack from the UK.
The owner knows that he has completely over spent on the car, but, sometimes, when you start one of these projects, you just have to finish them, irrespective of the cost. (a list of invoices is available on request)
The car looks fantastic and drives exceptionally well. The car comes with her original owners manual and service booklet!
