1985 Ferrari 308 GTS QV
|
Specifications:
Engine: 3 liter V8 Cylinder Transmission: 5 speed Manual Features: A/C, CD player, black targa roof. Rare RHD |
At the 1982 Paris Motor Show, Ferrari launched the 308 quattrovalvole, in GTB and GTS form. The main change from the 308 GTBi/GTSi it succeeded were the four valves per cylinder—hence its name, quattrovalvole, literally "four valves" in Italian—which pushed output back up to 240 hp (177 kW) restoring some of the performance lost to the emission control equipment.
The new model could be recognized by the addition of a slim louvred panel in the front lid to aid radiator exhaust air exit, power operated mirrors carrying a small enamel Ferrari badge, a redesigned radiator grille with rectangular driving lights on each side, and rectangular (in place of round) side repeaters.
The interior also received some minor updates, such as a satin black three spoke steering wheel with triangular centre; cloth seat centres became available as an option to the standard full leather. Available options included metallic paint, a deep front spoiler, air conditioning, wider, 16-inch Speedline wheels with Pirelli P7 tyres, and a satin black roof aerofoil (standard on Japanese market models).
There were only 233 GTSi QV's produced and this is a South African specification, in KMPH and is beautifully finished in Rosso Corsa with Crema leather interior. The seats and door cards and the rest of the interior, including the carpets, are original. It has recently had a major service including cam belts and all suspension rubbers, shocks etc. The car has tools, original 16 inch rims
308's have become one of the most collectible of the 'modern' Ferrari's and this car is definitely one to have in your collection or to drive daily. If you are a child of the 70's you'll know this as the Magnum P.I. Car
