The Jaguar XK8 was launched in 1996 to replace the XJ-S. Two body styles were produced - a coupé and a convertible. The car was the first in the Jaguar line-up to use Jaguar's newly developed V8 engine - the AJ-V8. In 2000 the supercharged XKR was added to the range. The XKR featured 370 supercharged horsepower, a subtle rear spoiler, wire mesh front grille, and red exterior emblems.
The early XKR's motor was made in England, the ignition system was from NGK in Japan, the transmission was a Mercedes-Benz 722.6, the lighting system was by Valeo in France, and the supercharger was made by Eaton in the USA, so it was truly a world car.
The 2005 XKR's were the run out of the had the 4.2 liter V8 engine and came standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, Jaguar's Adaptive Cruise Control is an optional feature available on both models. The new ZF 6HP26 six-speed automatic transmission was fitted in both versions of the 4.2-litre model. Both models came with all-leather interior, burl walnut trim, and side airbags.
This is a one family owned car from new with only 57,000km from new! It has a full service history and books all stamped by Jaguar in Johannesburg. The car is in excellent overall condition and has recently had some work attended to by a local marque specialist. The interior and soft top are immaculate and the car has its factory tonneau cover aswell. This is as close to a new 21 year old car that you can get!
